The results of the 2004 survey clearly indicate that a number of companies are aware of Business Continuity and have mature processes in place.

However, there are many who still need to address the whole subject at a company-wide level with support from senior management.

Using an advanced process of weighting and analysis, we scored each company within a detailed set of criteria, from which we are able to provide a composite overall score for each company. This then gives a rating on commissum's Business Vulnerability Index© (BVI).

Some companies demonstrated advanced levels of preparedness, for example 25% of the companies fall within levels 1 and 2, but more worryingly, 18% of respondents are almost unprotected at level 4.
