Many organisations are now recognising the importance of having a proven and tested Buisness Contiuniuty Plan. However, some organisations do not have the required resources or the required level of expertise in the required areas readily available to plan, implement and test the Business Continuity plans.
In many cases, the requirement to have a Business Continuity Programme is driven by the need to retain competitive advantage and to comply with a range of complex regulations, nationally and internationally. These current and emerging guidelines and regulations are ever more complex and in many cases becoming integrated within the business processes.
The expanding list of regulations cover typically Basel II (and other financial regulations), Sarbanes-Oxley Act (and other accounting regulations), SAS 70, Cobit, Information Security (ISO 177799), EU directives, Health and Safety, ITIL and various IOS standards and national “best practice” policies. A detailed knowledge and awareness of these regulations and guidelines is essential when implementing a Business Continuity Programme. In recognition of an organisation's potential skill shortage in some of these areas, linked with the need to provide ongoing support and training to a range of personnel, commissum is able to provide Interim Management to supplement any shortfall of the resources of an organisation.
